Online, April 29, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Canadians can expect increased clarity and ease around battery recycling as a result of a new collaborative agreement between Call2Recycle Canada, Inc., Canada's national consumer battery recycling organization, and the Canadian Battery Association (CBA), the stewardship organization that recycles lead-acid batteries across Canada.

With operations across Canada, Call2Recycle focuses on consumer single-use and rechargeable batteries weighing less than 5 kilograms, while the CBA focuses on lead-acid batteries of all sizes, primarily gathered in industrial, commercial and institutional sectors. With 65 years of combined experience, the two stewardship organizations bring a wealth of knowledge to consumer battery collection and recycling and are well-positioned to increase battery diversion across Canada.
Call2Recycle Canada and the CBA will work together to reduce consumer confusion and where possible, share operations and infrastructure, resulting in significant program efficiencies to benefit consumers. Ultimately, this will ensure that the two stewardship organizations can further educate Canadians as well as municipal, provincial and federal stakeholders about the safe disposal and recycling of all types of batteries.
